Architecture forms the memory of societies, their present, and the future they aspire to change and develop for the better by utilizing all technological potential. Undoubtedly, architecture in its broad and comprehensive concept surpasses built masses to represent the spaces in which humans live, are affected by, and affect. These spaces embrace their various human and social functions and activities. The more these spaces align with human nature and needs, the more positive their impact on the individual, their comfort, productivity, and happiness. Conversely, the further they deviate from this alignment, the more negative their effects become. Architects continuously strive to develop architectural trends, leading to the emergence of terms such as smart architecture, sustainable architecture, green architecture, and eco-friendly architecture, among others. Based on the importance that Benha holds in Egyptian architecture, starting from the ancient Egyptian heritage in "Atrebi," passing through the modern era of the Muhammad Ali dynasty, and reaching the current and future national projects; the Department of Architecture was established in 2016 to be the newest department in the Faculty of Engineering at Benha and to serve as a nucleus for graduating engineering cadres who will continue the path of construction and development. To ensure development with a local character, the Architecture Department at the Faculty of Engineering in Benha has taken upon itself, since its establishment, the task of forming a unique architectural character with a local flavor based on local and global experiences, so that the graduates are in line with global technological advancements but with a local touch that carries the spirit and character of the place. The Department of Architecture is keen on addressing the needs of the community by selecting student projects that meet local needs, participating in local and international competitions to gain experience and leave their mark on some landmarks, and having department members participate in numerous local and international workshops and conferences.
