Department Head Word

The field of Electrical Engineering is one of the fundamental and vital disciplines in engineering. No university is without at least one program in Electrical Engineering. This is due to the wide variety of programs offered under this discipline, including Electrical Power and Machines Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Renewable Energy Engineering. Additionally, it is an essential part of hybrid programs such as Mechatronics and Electromechanics.

The Electrical Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, Benha University, was established with the founding of the faculty in 1988 under the name "Electrical Engineering Technology Department". It was later renamed the "Electrical Engineering Department" following the update of the academic regulations in 2011. The department offers three undergraduate programs, where students can choose one specialization after successfully completing their second year. These specializations are:

  • Electrical Power and Control Engineering
  • Communications and Computer Engineering
  • Biomedical Engineering

Additionally, the department offers Master’s and Doctoral programs in these specializations for postgraduate studies.

Starting from the academic year 2023/2024, the Bachelor’s program curriculum has been updated to include four programs:

  1. Electrical Power and Machines Engineering
  2. Computer and Control Engineering
  3. Electronics and Communications Engineering
  4. Biomedical Engineering

The Electrical Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, Benha University, aims to prepare highly skilled engineering professionals capable of keeping up with the rapid developments in the job market and equipping graduates to meet these demands. This is achieved through updating academic curricula and practical training for students, ensuring they are well-prepared to compete in local and regional job markets and participate in national projects that contribute to the country's progress. Furthermore, the department strives to prepare students for lifelong learning to continuously develop their scientific and practical skills while equipping them with essential research capabilities.
